Day 70

A flame burned deep in their hearts,
But they insisted on keeping apart.
What would happen if they touched?
Would it all just be too much?
Who can put out the fire if it starts?

Day 69

There once was a planet of blue,
Full of life and wonder, it grew.
Now it fears for its life,
Full of horror and strife,
And is waiting for love to break through.

Day 68

Caffeine pulsed through their veins,
But the energy still started to wane.
No substitute for rest,
They unfortunately had to confess,
Their mind, body, and soul were in pain.

Day 67

A fox escaped down the knoll,
The target of a hunt for a stole.
A fancy scarf was wanted,
With no fear of being haunted,
By the fox’s vengeful soul.

Day 66

If I were to do life again,
I would push harder against the grain,
To forge my own path,
And harness my wrath,
Of always feeling the need to explain.

Day 65

Where should I be, but away,
Going somewhere fast along a highway,
Will I find what I need,
If I’m willing to cede,
That I may have to kill or betray.

Day 64

Arms were open widely,
Closing in, horrifiedly,
The receiver wanted to run,
Away from all and everyone,
But took the hug, dissatisfiedly.

Day 63

A quick trip to the store,
Was all the time, they swore,
To grab what they needed,
Though temptation greatly pleaded,
To add to cart, so much more.

Day 62

There once was a stifling heat,
Whose discomfort could not be beat.
Even a jump in a pool,
Was an errand ran by a fool,
Every attempt to cool down, a defeat.

Day 61

They lived alone in the woods,
Simply because they could.
They found pleasure in the quiet,
Away from all the riot,
Of all of life’s ‘you shoulds’.
